The Best Cannabutter Machine
I have been using and testing most of the popular infusion machines on the market for about ten years. This is the overview, mostly because I get asked about them constantly. Here is what each one is actually for, and whether you need one at all.
How I got these, and how I get paid. These machines were sent to me. I do not keep everything I am sent, and when something is garbage I say so. Every machine on this page is one I have actually used and fully tested, some of them since 2013. Some links here also earn me a commission if you buy through them. That costs you nothing and it does not change what I recommend.

Which cannabutter machine should you buy?
LĒVO II+, $329. Small enough to live on the counter, quiet enough to run while you cook, and the only one here I would call genuinely easy the first time you use it. It is the one that dries, activates and infuses in the same chamber.
LĒVO C, $259. Built for volume, and it is the cheaper machine. If you have a harvest to get through rather than an eighth, this is the one that will not take you a fortnight.
A mason jar and some tin foil. Genuinely. Everybody I know who loves their machine made a couple of batches in the oven first, and they all say the same thing: that is how you find out what you are actually buying.

I have been using these since the first one existed
Most reviews of these machines are written by somebody who had one for a fortnight. I have been using these since the first one existed and infusing on one nearly every week since, so I have watched what changed between generations and what quietly did not.
That also means I can tell you which complaints about the old machines have been fixed and which ones you will still be living with.

LĒVO II+
Cute enough that it lives out permanently rather than in a cupboard, which matters more than it sounds: a machine in a cupboard gets used once a season. It is the only machine here that dries, activates and infuses in one chamber, so nothing gets moved between steps and nothing evaporates off in between.
It is also the more expensive of the two LĒVOs, and not because it is bigger. It is the smaller one. What the extra buys you is the dry cycle and time and temperature control on the activate cycle.

LĒVO C
The volume machine. If you are working through a harvest rather than an eighth, the II+ will have you running batch after batch while this one does it in a single pass. It holds more than twice as much.
The trade is the dry cycle. The C activates and infuses, which is the part that matters, but it does not dry, so wet material wants a day on a rack first. It has a touch screen and it pours out rather than dispensing on a button.

Cannabutter maker comparison: all five, side by side
Including the two you cannot buy from me, because leaving them out would make this an advert rather than a comparison.

The two LĒVO links are affiliate links, so I earn a commission if you buy through them. The Magical Butter link is not, and the last two go to my own pages.
You do not need one of these
I love a good gadget that makes things easier and more fun. You still do not need one. If you are not making more than a couple of batches of brownies a year, you definitely do not need one.
A mason jar, a piece of tin foil and a meat thermometer will make you infused oil in the oven, and the jar decarbs and infuses in one go, which is more than the Magical Butter does. That is how I made mine for years and it is still where I tell people to start.
If this is something you are doing regularly, for yourself or your family, then one of these could be worth it. What you are buying is repeatability, a house that does not smell, and never having to stand over anything.
Questions people actually ask
Do I still need to decarb separately?
Not with the LĒVO machines. Both have an activate cycle that decarbs in the same chamber before the infusion runs. With the Magical Butter you do, in the oven, first.
What is the difference between the LĒVO II+ and the LĒVO C?
Size and the dry cycle. The C holds 4 1/4 cups to the II+’s 2 cups and costs less. The II+ adds a dry cycle and time and temperature control on the activate cycle. Bigger is the cheaper one here, which surprises most people.
Is the Ardent coming back?
No. It is discontinued and there is no successor. If you own one it still works, and the temperatures I use with it are in the decarb guide.
Can I make anything other than butter?
Yes, and most people end up doing so. Oils, honey, glycerin, MCT for tinctures. The name is the narrowest thing about these machines.
How strong will my butter be?
That depends on your flower, not on the machine. The dosage calculator works it out from your weight and percentage.
