Dearest Wake + Baker,

Corinne here. Today, we’re diving deep into a recipe I can’t seem to stop improving – THC lube.

In this week’s hilarious Wake + Bake podcast episode (Cannabis and Sex), Andrea offhandedly said, “You’re like the weed lube lady now. You’ve got three Weed Lube recipes on your website. You don’t have three of any other website or any other recipes, do you?”

Turns out she was right, and I couldn’t be more proud to be your friendly neighborhood weed lube lady.

This is THC lube recipe number three, and is my favorite thing on the planet.

It’s a condom-friendly, easy to make, affordable THC Lube recipe that doubles as an incredible brightening skin serum (Yes. For your face. I’m serious. You must.)

THC Lube Benefits

Let’s start by uncovering the magic behind THC lube and the reported benefits that have inspired readers around the world to take their cannabis use down under and between the sheets.

This THC lube is more gel-like than common oil-based cannabis lubes

While we don’t have much lab-based research on things that THC lube can help with, I can share what I’ve experienced and what other readers and writers have shared after trying weed lube.

Heightened Sensitivity and Arousal:

One of the most reported benefits of THC lube is the enhancement of sensitivity and arousal.

The interaction between THC and the endocannabinoid system can contribute to increased blood flow, leading to heightened sensation.

Users often describe a more profound connection with their bodies, making the overall experience more pleasurable and engaging.

Benefits of THC Lube

While you won’t feel high after using THC lube, readers report a feeling of sensations being “turned up”.

Longer, Stronger Orgasmic Experiences:

There have been viral articles about “getting your pussy high” with weed lube and people talking about epically pleasurable orgasms, but it wasn’t until recently that one brave citizen scientist measured the impact that weed lube had on her orgasms  using a smart vibrator.

You can read more about her experience here.

As a data lover, I believe this may be the best chart of all time.

It shows what her masturbation experience was like with and without weed lube.

THC lube experiment

My biggest hope is that someday a scientist stumbles on this post and decides to replicate this research in a lab setting so we can get more data like this.

Holler if you need any volunteers 😉

Increase The Production of Your Own Natural Lubrication

In my experience with this THC Lube, it doesn’t just serve as a lubricant that works in the moment.

In testing this throughout the week, I noticed that using it during the day caused an increase in my own lubrication without having to add more lube.

The increase in blood flow is a huge contributing factor to the lubrication your body makes, and I noticed that it’s been easier for me to get and stay wet after using THC lube for the past 8 years.

Relaxation

One of the things I love about THC lube in general is its power to relax some of the more tense muscles in the pelvic floor.

Many women have hypertonic pelvic floors (clenching, inability to create articulation in the pelvic floor muscles, tension, pain).

I’ve noticed that using this THC Lube helps with relaxation as well as heightened sensitivity. It’s a real win-win.

Reduced Discomfort and Pain:

Another notable benefit is the potential reduction of discomfort or pain during intimacy.

The anti-inflammatory properties of THC may contribute to muscle relaxation, making THC lube particularly appealing for individuals dealing with conditions such as endometriosis or pelvic pain.

What you need to Make THC Lube

It’s time to get your hands dirty (!) with the process of creating your own THC lube at home.

This DIY recipe is straightforward and requires just 3 ingredients.

Ingredient 1: THC Concentrates

*Note: This THC lube recipe CANNOT be made using cannabis flower.*

That’s because there is no fat or alcohol in this recipe to extract the cannabinoids, and it would result in a bunk end product (bunk is a scientific term, right?).

Instead, this THC lube recipe uses cannabis concentrates. I tested it with Rosin and Keif. Both worked and even though the kief took longer to incorporate into the aloe, it was more economical and worked great.

I’d love to hear if you decide to use another concentrate and how that works for you.  Don’t forget to comment below after you try this recipe to share your results.

If you’re looking for a recipe that uses THC flower, you’re in luck. Try this weed lube love butter or this sprayable weed lube recipe.

Ingredient 2: Aloe Gel

You’ll also need a high quality aloe gel with as few ingredients as possible. I prefer organic aloe – because I’m a crunchy hippie like that (I used this one).

Ingredient 3: Hyaluronic Acid

The final ingredient is optional, but I’ve been loving the results with using it and personally wouldn’t make this recipe without it.

It’s called Hyaluronic Acid and is typically used in facial products to increase moisture and fight signs of aging (one of the reasons I swear by this THC Lube as a double duty face serum).

I understand that putting anything with the word “acid” in it next to your private zone sounds awful.

But this isn’t that kind of acid. It’s found in KY’s “intense moisturizing” formula and in many other store bought condom-friendly lubricants.

What’s even cooler than that is that we have at least one clinical trial showing that hyaluronic acid gel can ease vaginal dryness (as well as estrogen-based treatments!).

Results: Both hyaluronic acid vaginal gel and estriol cream can significantly improve the clinical symptoms of vaginal dryness in postmenopausal women, with improvement rate of 84.44% and 89.42%, respectively, after 10 applications, without statistically significant difference between them.

Conclusion: Both hyaluronic acid vaginal gel and estriol cream are effective in the treatment of vaginal dryness. Hyaluronic acid vaginal gel may be considered as a valid alternative to estrogen-based treatments in relieving the symptoms of vaginal dryness.

I used this hyaluronic acid and it worked great.

Can You Fail a Drug Test Using THC Lube?

A significant concern among potential THC lube users is the potential for a positive drug test. Understanding the dynamics of THC absorption through the skin is crucial for addressing this concern.

THC Absorption and Drug Testing:

While the absorption of THC through the skin is generally minimal, it’s essential to acknowledge that individual factors can influence drug test results. Factors such as the sensitivity of the drug test, the concentration of THC in the product, and the frequency of use can all play a role.

Exercise Caution and Consult:

If you are subject to regular drug testing, it’s advisable to exercise caution and, if needed, consult with a healthcare professional. While many users do not experience positive drug test results, individual variations exist, and it’s crucial to prioritize your well-being.

Alternatives for THC-Free Pleasure:

If the concern about drug testing remains, consider exploring THC-free alternatives. CBD-infused products, such as lubes or massage oils, offer potential benefits without the psychoactive effects associated with THC.

Instructions

Aloe and Hyaluronic Acid Mix

  • Combine aloe and hyaluronic acid, placing the mixture in the fridge overnight.
  • Despite initial lumpiness, mix until smooth the next day.

Decarboxylation Step

  • Activate the THC in the rosin or keif by decarboxylating it using an Ardent FX, Mini, or a Mason Jar.
  • If using a mason jar, bake for 45 minutes at 240°F. If using an Ardent, use the F1 cycle.

Mixing Magic

  • Add the chilled aloe/hyaluronic acid mix to the decarboxylated rosin.
  • Heat until everything blends. I used a coffee frother intermittently until the mixture was homogenous.

Adjust the Consistency

  • If your aloe mix evaporates, add more aloe or water until you're back at 1/4 cup.

Chill Time

  • Store your freshly made THC lube in the fridge. Use within a month for optimal freshness. (remember it does more good on you than in your fridge)

Dosage Information for THC Lube

I love how easy it is to approximate the dosage for this recipe. I shoot for 300-400mg/bottle for my THC Lube.

Using one gram of concentrate that is around 70% THC in 1/4 cup of this lube makes 2-1oz pump bottles that end up being around 350mg of THC in each bottle.

If your concentrate is higher or lower, you can use the dosage calculator to calculate the dosage in each bottle.

The simplicity of this recipe allows you to experiment with ratios and find the perfect strength in your THC lube.

Can You Use This Recipe to Make CBD Lube?

Absolutely!

This versatile recipe can be easily adapted to create CBD-infused lube, providing an alternative for those seeking the potential benefits of weed lube if you live in a place that only has THC or if you just want to experiment with which cannabinoids work best for you.

Here’s how you can make your own CBD lube using a similar approach:

CBD Lube Recipe:

Follow the same process outlined for THC lube, substituting the CBD-rich cannabis flower or using commercially available CBD oil. This adaptation allows you to enjoy the potential relaxation and anti-inflammatory benefits of CBD without the psychoactive effects.

Additional Considerations for CBD Lube:

  • Choose the Right CBD Product:
    • As with the THC lube, you can’t use CBD flower for this recipe. I haven’t tested this with a premed CBD oil, but it would likely work. Oil does degrade condoms though, so keep that in mind if you decide to make substitutions.
  • Experiment with Ratios:
    • Feel free to experiment with the CBD-THC ratio to find the balance that suits you best. Some find that a blend works even better than either one on their own.
